First started in 2017, the T10 League is a newly 10 over format cricket league owned by the T Ten Sports Management. Approved by the Emirates Cricket Board and officially sanctioned by the International Cricket Council, the current instalment of the T10 League has begun today on the 28th of January 2021 at the iconic Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
With a total of eight teams, they are divided into two groups of four each, just as was seen in the last season. Here is a quick glance at both of these groups:

- Northern Warriors

Group B
- Deccan Gladiators
- Pune Devils
- Qalandars
- Team Abu Dhabi
Teams fighting sinking teeth to come out alive from the group stages with a total of 12 matches conducted in the group stages. The following super league after the group stages will have a total of 12 more, paving the way for the playoffs starting from February 5th. The top two teams from the playoffs will have to battle out in a qualifier to prove their mettle for a spot in the glorious finals. February 5th will also witness the first elimination match where the third and fourth team will battle it out. The loosing team from the qualifier will have to battle it out with the winner of the first eliminator to secure the second spot in the finals.
With three matches marking the beginning of this season at Abu Dhabi, we saw three thrilling showdowns this evening. At 16:00 hours the Maratha Arabians took on the Northern Warriors. This action packed match had some sparks with big names such as Shoaib Malik, Pravin Tambe, Kjorn Ottley and Wahab Riaz. The Maratha Arabians won the last season’s crown and will be led by Indian coach Lalchand Rajput, who will be charge from last year’s coach Zimbabwean Andrew Flower. The Maratha Arabians defeated the Northern Warriors by 5 wickets. Northern Warriors on the other hand secured the fifth spot in the last season with a win count of three matches while loosing the other three. Indian coach Robin Singh is again taking charge this season for the Northern Warriors.
At 18:15 hours, Sheikh Zayed Stadium witnessed the second match of the night fought between the Pune Devils, led by coach Jonty Rhodes and Deccan Gladiators, led by coach Mushtaq Ahmed. Deccan Gladiators looked to avenge their last season’s final’s upset when Maratha Arabians won the finals by 8 wickets, but lost to the Pune Devils by 7 wickets.
The final match of the night was held at 2030 hours between the Delhi Bulls and the Bangla Tigers. Delhi Bulls beat Bangla Tigers by 7 wickets, with Bangla Tigers wrapping up in 128 in 10 overs out if the given 129 by the Delhi Bulls.
Stay tuned tomorrow for an action packed evening with three back to back matches. At 17:30 hours, Pune Devils will take on Qalandars. Following at 19:45 hours, Maratha Arabians will be taking on the Delhi Bulls and at 22:00 hours, Deccan Gladiators will be facing off against Team Abu Dhabi.
